INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter softened
1/2 cup margarine softened
2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
21 oz cherry pie filling (1 can)
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 325F degrees and line a baking sheet with
parchment paper.
2. With a table top or hand mixer, whip butters together in a large
bowl on medium high speed until fluffy, roughly 2-3 minutes.
3. Add vanilla to butter, then beat for 30 seconds.
4. Sift together flour and sugar, then add to the bowl with the butter.
Beat on medium until dough beings to clump, then use your
hands to finish mixing until a soft, smooth dough is formed.
5. Roll dough into 1 inch balls, then place on parchment covered
baking sheet 2 inches apart.
6. Using your thumb or the bottom of a tablespoon measuring
spoon, gently press in the center of each cookie so it forms a
well. Scoop 1-4 cherries on to each cookie.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for 5 minutes on
the baking sheet, then transfer to an wire rack. Allow to cool
completely.
8. Heat chocolate chips per package Directions, then drizzle across
cookies. Let chocolate cool completely before serving or storing
cookies in an air tight container.
